A dynamic approach to teaching beginning trumpet lessons in a synchronous virtual setting

Welcome to Beginningtrumpet.com!

This is a website to assist music teachers in starting beginners on trumpet. I understand that, as a music teacher you have to teach at least 12 instruments, only one of which is your primary instrument! This website is here to guide you when it comes to teaching a beginner on trumpet. Beginningtrumpet.com is based on my experience of teaching on Zoom during the pandemic and addresses the unique challenges of teaching in a virtual setting.

Sound Before Sight

The lesson design is based on the principles of sound before sight, student-directed learning, and positive reinforcement. With this approach, the student becomes enthusiastic about playing the instrument and enthusiasm leads to dedication. Reading music begins in lesson 15.

I am truly amazed at what can be accomplished over Zoom. You would think music lessons from 2000 miles away would be impossible, but here we are not even a year later with my 9-year-old daughter playing at a high school level "
