A dynamic approach to teaching beginning trumpet lessons in a synchronous virtual setting

Welcome to Beginningtrumpet.com!

This is a website to assist music teachers in starting beginners on trumpet. I understand that, as a music teacher you have to teach at least 12 instruments, only one of which is your primary instrument! This website is here to guide you when it comes to teaching a beginner on trumpet. Beginningtrumpet.com is based on my experience of teaching on Zoom during the pandemic and addresses the unique challenges of teaching in a virtual setting.

Sound Before Sight

The lesson design is based on the principles of sound before sight, student-directed learning, and positive reinforcement. With this approach, the student becomes enthusiastic about playing the instrument and enthusiasm leads to dedication. Reading music begins in lesson 15.

“I am truly amazed at what can be accomplished over Zoom. You would think music lessons from 2000 miles away would be impossible, but here we are not even a year later with my 9-year-old daughter playing at a high school level "
